Thanks. As the class wound down I had some free time to do whatever I wanted, more or less. Though I've a tendency to get lost in my thoughts or doodles when the teacher's rambling on about something I-already-know/that-doesn't-really-matter.

I hate drawing with charcoal. It's messy and it smudges so easily. I think it's admirable when people are willing to draw themselves. It requires a degree of self confidence and acceptance that I can rarely muster.
More resigned apathy in my case then confident acceptance, but I'll take what I can get.
I like charcoal for the colored pieces I've been doing lately, but I do have to be careful that it doesn't smudge, though it happens. I'm thinking of sealing them with clear acrylic... but that's the kind of thing I'll say and never get around to...
